The Internet is so ubiquitous, sometimes it’s easy to forget that it’s not a single monolithic tool, but a combination of websites that each have their own purpose. It’s plainly obvious, but deserves restating: different websites have different functions. It is your job as the owner of the website to make sure it does what you need it to, not just what everyone else’s does.

In the planning stage of your website, be sure to determine the results you’d like to get out of it. In addition to attracting new customers, your website can serve existing ones by providing a needed resource to your current clients. Some things that your site can do for you:

  • collect contact info into a mailing list
  • gauge interest in a product
  • distribute applications by state, self-selected by the users
  • provide recorded or live audio conferences
  • hold a digital drop box for large files
  • provide internal vendor lists
  • host password protected file storage for remote retrieval

These are just a few ideas to get the ideas flowing. We are more than happy to meet with you to help get your web project started in the right direction.
