On the Internet, there are several options for the “extension” that follows a domain name (i.e. .com, .biz, .net, .info, .us). If you want to ensure you completely own that identity, you can easily register your domain with all of the available extensions. That way, your audience won’t have to wonder if you’re a .com, .biz, .net, or any other dot-something. With the cost of domain name registration available at $16 or below per year (and even less for multi-year contracts) it is often worth it to have those extra domains gathered up. You might want to also consider registering variations on a name, common misspellings and product names to ensure that those trying to find you can.
